Colson Kelly, who is also referred to by the name Machine Gun Kelly, has a unique style of rapping. Baker was born in Houston, Texas on April 22 of 1990. He was born into an German and English Scottish family. His parents were missionaries and throughout his childhood, Baker traveled extensively along with them. James Colson Baker suffered from depression and was unemployed as Sonia Alane abandoned them at the age of nine. Following that Baker and his father relocated to Denver which was where they resided with his aunt, who was his father's. Baker suffered bullying from other children in his neighborhood because of his poor living conditions. In the sixth grade, Baker started to take rap music as a form of entertainment. Colson Kelly was born Machine Gun Kelly on April 22, 1989, in Texas. He is best known for his hip hop infused with rock and his modern alternative. Baker produced four mixtapes before signing to Bad Boy Records between 2007-2010. This Cleveland rapper who raps lyrics as fast as bullets, saw an astonishing rise towards the end of 2011 when he switched from self-publishing mixtapes to signing with reputable labels. Then, his fame skyrocketed as each of his albums charted within the top 10 charts.
