Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Early on, while living in the New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. I could not study or accomplish enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a whole year studying at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her culinary passion and profession. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to communicate with people what is most important to her.
